HOPE Family Services has served victims and survivors of domestic violence in Manatee County for over 41 years. They are working to raise $50,000 to fund the purchase of books and supplies for the new Children's Counseling Center, which is funded by Impact100 SRQ, and slated to open in early 2023. If you have read the book Maid by Stephanie Land, you understand the trauma to both Stephanie and her daughter due to the violence. That distress, in concert with the challenges they faced due to their ensuing poverty, was a clarion call for HOPE to develop more comprehensive children's services. This was the impetus for their new facility focused on helping children work through trauma while attempting to break the inter-generational nature of family violence.
On May 24th, 2022, HOPE Family Services will host an author's luncheon featuring Stephanie Land, Maid's author. The event, A Luncheon of HOPE is an awareness and fundraising event. The luncheon starts at 11:30 AM.
