MEET OUR FAC CHAIRS

With great pleasure we would like to introduce our members

who have volunteered to be FAC Chairs for 2022

FAC - FOCUS AREA COMMITTEE

Our FAC Chairs are volunteers who lead our members through the entire grant review process. They facilitate all meetings, communicate regularly with all FAC members, answer member questions, coordinate with Site Visit Leads, and consult with our

FAC Directors as needed.

Andrea McHenry – Family

Andrea is a Founding Board Member of Impact100 SRQ, serving as our Treasurer since chapter inception. She has volunteered on several FACs, has been a site visit lead, and also participates on various workgroups. In addition to being the Family FAC Chair this year, Andrea also currently volunteers on the Governance and Financial Oversight committees.

Anne Ridings – Art & Culture

Anne is a founding member of Impact100 SRQ.  She started and ran a local not for profit for 27 years and has extensive experience serving on the application/recipient side of a grant review and allocation process. Anne has previously volunteered on the Health & Wellness, Education, and Environment & Recreation FACs, participating as a site visit lead, and also on the CIRC team. In addition to being the Arts & Culture FAC Chair, Anne is volunteering as an ambassador this year. “I have enjoyed every moment as a member of Impact100 SRQ and have nothing but the highest respect for this amazing group of women. It is inspiring how organized and efficiently run this group is and how far Impact100 SRQ has grown in 4 short years.”

Ellen Foster – Environment & Recreation

Ellen is a founding member of Impact100 SRQ.  She has also volunteered on the Arts & Culture and Family FAC and CIRC teams in previous giving years. Ellen's background is in the philanthropic sector, and she enjoys the entire grant review and grant making process - especially the "group think" with like-minded women that goes into making the most impactful grants.

Kathy McKown – Health & Wellness

This is Kathy’s third year with Impact100 SRQ. Kathy volunteered on the Arts & Culture FAC in 2020 and was the Arts & Culture FAC Chair in 2021. In addition to being the Health & Wellness FAC Chair, Kathy also volunteers on the CIRC team, the Membership Workgroup, and other areas where there is need. You might see Kathy at various Impact100 SRQ events taking photos, so be sure to smile when you do!

Marilyn Keyes – Education

Marilyn joined Impact100 SRQ in 2021 and volunteered on the Education FAC. She has also been a site visit lead, a volunteer at several Impact100 SRQ events, a volunteer on the Membership Workgroup, and graciously hosted an IMPACT100 SRQ Luncheon Membership Recruiting event last year. Prior to retirement, Marilyn lived in New Jersey where she served on both The Red Cross of Northern New Jersey & The Junior League Board of Directors and was a Program/Project Manager for American Express Gift Cards.

MEET OUR CIRC CHAIRS

We are also very delighted to introduce our CIRC Chairs:

CIRC - Community Investment Review Committee

CIRC Chairs are volunteers who coordinate the overall financial review of each grant applicants along with the budgets for each specific initiative. They coordinate the "report-outs" from all CIRC volunteers on each FAC to the FAC members, provide specific clarification questions for the Site Visit Teams to discuss on their visits, and bring issues for further consideration to our CIRC Directors.

Cindy Wrick – Arts & Culture CIRC Chair

Cindy is a founding member of Impact100 SRQ. She has volunteered on both CIRC and FACs for the past two years, participating in Arts & Culture and Environment & Recreation. Cindy is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), originally from Boston, MA, and has lived in Sarasota since 2010. She is looking forward to the 2022 grant review process!

Kim Fierst – Education CIRC Chair

Kim has lived in Sarasota since 2004 and became a full-time resident in 2012.  She joined Impact100 SRQ as a Founding Member in 2019 and joined the Health & Wellness FAC.  She loved everything about the experience, particularly the site visits. Early in 2020, she was nominated and elected the Impact100 SRQ Board of Directors as the Focus Area Director, a position she held until the end of 2021.  Currently, Kim also volunteers as the Grant Link contact for some of our 2021 Grant Recipients, helping to facilitated and complete their funded initiatives.  This year she is looking forward to participating on the Education FAC as its CIRC Chair.

Maria Mandler – Environment & Recreation CIRC Chair

Maria joined Impact100 SRQ in the 2020 giving year. She volunteered on the Family FAC her first year, and on the Environment & Recreation FAC her second year. She is looking forward to being the Environment & Recreation CIRC Chair this year.

Toni Schemmel – Family CIRC Chair

Toni is a Founding Board Member of Impact100 SRQ and served as Finance Director and Grants Director until November 2020. In addition to being the Family CIRC Chair, Toni volunteers as the Grant Link contact to some of our 2020 & 2021 Grant Recipients, helping to facilitate and complete each funded initiative.

When not volunteering with Impact100 SRQ, Toni is a team member of the Schemmel Soda Group at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, on the water, or skiing in Colorado. She is a proud mom of grown sons.

Regina Monahan – Health & Wellness CIRC Chair

Regina moved from NYC to Siesta Key in 2020, and joined Impact100 SRQ in 2022. Before relocating to Sarasota, her practice as a psychologist focused on adults with ADHD. After volunteering for several years as a Sexual Assault Advocate, she had hoped to find rewarding volunteer opportunities in Sarasota. “I am delighted to be a new member of Impact100 SRQ and look forward to being a part of this wonderful organization.”

IMPACT IN ACTION

HOPE Family Services has served victims and survivors of domestic violence in Manatee County for over 41 years.  They are working to raise $50,000 to fund the purchase of books and supplies for the new Children's Counseling Center, which was funded by the grant Impact100 SRQ members voted to fund in the 2021 Giving Year, and is slated to open in early 2023.  If you have read the book "Maid" the true story authored by Stephanie Land, you understand the trauma that both Stephanie and her daughter suffered due to the domestic violence abuse and experiences they endured. That distress, in concert with the challenges they faced due to their ensuing poverty, was a clarion call for HOPE to develop more comprehensive children's services.  Their story was the impetus for HOPE's new facility which is focused on helping children work through trauma while attempting to break the inter-generational nature of family violence.

On May 24th, 2022,

HOPE Family Services is hosting an author's luncheon featuring Stephanie Land, author of "Maid".

The event, "A Luncheon of HOPE" is an awareness and fundraising event.

The luncheon starts at 11:30 AM.

Please consider attending this event as a way to support and  lift up one of our 2021 nonprofit recipients.
