Want to see how we helped The Paul A. and Veronica H. Gross Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida rehabilitate eagles and other large birds of prey? Learn how The Help Florida's Raptors Soar – Construction of a 100 ft Flyway for Raptor Rehabilitation initiative, we funded, has increased survival rates of raptors rehabilitated at the Wildlife Center.
Executive Director, Pamela DeFouw will share how the new flyway complete with proper hides and perching, allow large, injured birds of prey rebuild their strength and test their soaring and maneuvering skills. She will also explain how a healthy raptor population is vital to our ecosystems, reduces the spread of disease and serves as a barometer of our ecological health.
We will actually SEE the new flyway in small groups so as not to disturb the other patients. Which means we will be outside so we recommend you bring:
• Closed- toe shoes
• Camp/lawn chair (seating is limited)
• Bug spray, etc.
