MEET THE FINALISTS

On October 19, Impact100 SRQ will announce the 10 finalists identified by the Focus Area Committees. This years’ Meet The Finalists will be conducted as a media conference rather than an in-person event. The challenge and cost of finding venues large enough to accommodate our growing chapter prompted the decision to put our financial resources toward our continued nonprofit engagement, and the Annual Celebration.

The 10 Focus Area Committee finalists will gather for the announcement and photos, which will be shared with our members and the community.  We will have the announcement, along with finalists’ executive summaries on our website until the Annual Celebration, where there, they will each have to opportunity to present their initiatives to our membership. Members will then vote for our six 2022 grant recipients.

IMPACT IN ACTION

Join us on a tour to see our Impact in Action at the

Southwest Florida YMCA in Venice, Florida

(2020 Grant Recipient)

on

September 27th from 4:00pm-5:30pm.

This is an "Open House" style event, and you are welcome to come and go as your schedule permits.

Tours will start every 20 minutes, where you will have the opportunity to see kids enjoying this new facility made possible through funding by

Impact100 SRQ.

We are encouraging attendees to bring an age-appropriate book to donate to the early learning center library, and if interested, there will be an opportunity for you to read your book to the children.

We've been told that the children attending the YMCA love ABC books and picture books, as well as the classics like Harry the Dirty Dog, and Harold and the Purple Crayon.

(We've also been asked to refrain from bringing mainstream Disney and similar type books).

Remember to register on our website or the Impact100 SRQ mobile App if you plan to attend this event.

This is a perfect opportunity to bring a guest who may want to know more about Impact100 SRQ so you can share with them our Impact in Action.

We can’t wait to see you there!

FOCUS AREA COMMITEE (FAC) UPDATE

This month, teams of Focus Area Committee members are visiting grant applicants to learn more about their proposed initiatives. The additional insights gained from these site visits inspire us as we learn about the incredible nonprofits in our area and inform us as we prepare to determine our 10 finalists.

Watch for the Meet The Finalists Announcement on October 19!

MEMBER TESTIMONIAL

"Impact100 SRQ is comprised of an amazing group of women, and we are growing fast. I want to do my part so that each member can walk into a room and feel among friends. Together we are sharing information and building trust, so that we can support our community with transformational grants.

We come from different towns and cities and range across all ages. Some of us joined Impact100 SRQ with friends, and some knew no one when they heard about the mission and took the leap to join and learn more.  Each member is on their own journey. How does Impact100 SRQ connect with every single member?  We get to know YOU.

By being part of the Ambassador program, I've had the opportunity to engage in in-depth conversations with new members so I can better understand your interests, your talents and the time you have to participate in our events.  Many members jump right in by joining a Focus Area Committee. Some attend a few events and then find a way to engage with us that suits them. One of the strengths of our organization is that YOU can Design Your Own Experience, and I can recommend how you might participate once I know you better.

We are known by the company we keep, and I want to be known as a woman who is transforming our community.  Thank you for allowing me to do this."

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

This summer has already been eventful and event-filled for

Impact100 SRQ. If you were unable to join us so far, you can catch up below on what you missed.

Our events are always “mission focused first” as we empower women to fund transformational grants to nonprofits in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, while continuing to build a strong sense of community among all our renewing and new members.

Member Monday @ Good Liquid Brewing Company in Lakewood Ranch

Members learned about the 5 Things Every Nonprofit Should Know and opportunities to work on our Nonprofit Workgroup.  For more information contact Betsy Friedman, VP Nonprofit Engagement.

Member Monday @ Brine Seafood and Raw Bar in Gulf Gate

Our Spotlight Speakers, Kay Stump and Carolyn Barker Collins, shared updates about our Ambassador program. Often our Ambassadors are the first point of contact with our new members and they are vital in introducing the many ways new members can design their own experience. For more information on how you can be an ambassador, contact Rose Dalsandro, Membership Director.

Laura Paolercio, Treasury and CIRC Director, provided the following status of our 2020 and 2021 grant recipients' initiatives:

  • Children’s Cancer Center continues monthly meetings with SRQ families needing a helping hand.
  • Mayors' Feed the Hungry uses the truck almost daily to feed our underserved community population.
  • YMCA of Southwest Florida is opening their doors for us to see the building in use with children on September 27th from 4-5:30pm. This is a great opportunity for all of us to our impact in action and grant dollars at work. Register here.
  • Crowley Museum & Nature Center's new boardwalk is well underway and anticipated to be complete by September.
  • Girls Inc. is expected to have the bulk of the renovations on the gym finished by September and look forward to sharing the results with the women of Impact.
  • Resilient Retreat is putting the finishing touches on the treatment room and will have a building dedication on the morning of October 18th for all to attend. Register here.
  • HOPE Family Services has ordered the modular building for the new children’s counseling center and expects delivery between Thanksgiving and the end of this calendar year.

Tonya Tremitiere, VP Marketing and Communications, spoke about Community Engagement and ways our members can help Keep Impact Self Sustaining (K.I.S.S.). Since 100% of all our member’s $1000 donation goes to fund the nonprofit grants, we rely on the generosity of our members and local businesses to keep Impact self-supporting.

If you would like to become a 110% member, your additional $100 will go to help us fund operational costs. You can become a 110% member here.

If you or someone you know has a business and would like to learn how to be a supporter of Impact100 SRQ through give-back events or sponsoring a Signature event, please contact Holly Shulman, Director of Community Engagement.

Mix & Mingle @ Cool Today Park Tomohawk Tiki Bar in Venice

Members Ellen Roche, Geri Allard and Barbara Woodrow graciously hosted this event in South Sarasota County, where members and guests learned more about the Impact100 SRQ model, history, and the grants we have awarded over the last 3 years.
